ADHD Real Estate Market -Save Your Money! Live in a Shipping Container

For many adults with ADHD, managing finances can be a significant challenge. With frequent career changes, unexpected layoffs, moving to different states, or making impulsive decisions to quit a job, saving money often takes a back seat. Let's face it, if we're not spending, it's usually because we don't have much to spend in the first place. The idea of buying a single house in one location for the rest of our lives may sound appealing, but for those of us with ADHD, it often isn't as practical or well-thought-out as it should be.

We might commit to a house because it seems like the "normal" or expected thing to do, or because we're looking for something new to cure our boredom. The idea of settling down in one place forever sounds like a commitment we should be able to make, but the reality is often different. Deep down, we may understand this truth, but it can be difficult to admit that a traditional home-buying decision may not suit our lifestyle or our need for flexibility and change.

Recognizing this, I've come up with an alternative option that might offer the flexibility many of us crave: building a home out of shipping containers. Yes, I'm talking about the same shipping containers that are used to transport goods across oceans and between countries.

Now, I understand that the idea might not sound particularly glamorous at first, but hear me out. Traditional houses can cost anywhere from $350,000 to several million dollars, depending on the location and size. In contrast, a fully equipped shipping container home can range from just $2,000 for the shell up to $15,000 ready to live in model making it a much more affordable option.

Not only are these homes cost-effective, but they also offer a high degree of customization. You can stack the containers to create multiple levels, place them side by side for more space, or cut out sections and add features like windows, doors, and even balconies. The possibilities are almost endless, allowing you to design a home that suits your needs and preferences without the hefty price tag of a traditional house.

Get Bored? Add another container. You can make coffee cafe, home office, pool house, rec room, anything you want.

Did I mention you can move them as well? You don't have to sit in the same location for the rest of your life.

Shipping container homes are not just a budget-friendly option; they are also environmentally friendly. By repurposing old shipping containers, you are recycling materials that might otherwise go to waste, contributing to a more sustainable living environment. Plus, the modular nature of these homes makes them easy to expand or move if your circumstances change—a significant benefit for those of us who are used to a more dynamic lifestyle.

Ultimately, choosing to live in a shipping container home could offer the flexibility, affordability, and sustainability that many adults with ADHD might find appealing. It's a unique solution that aligns with a lifestyle that values change and adaptability over permanence and predictability.

It's up to you if you want to put the work into creating a home out of the shell of a container or not. Keep in mind the price is low due it's just a shipping container - there's no plumbing, electricity, water, walls, doors, window, roof, etc.

I'm still doing my research so today I'm giving you the ones they have on Amazon, which are decked out and ready to live in.
